Paddling upstream we paused when we heard dogs barking… low and behold we never expected to see this pair peering out from under a log, they were defending their space by making a “woof woof” noise. I was delighted to see them and haven’t seen them since.

I’m not sure how this Heron know there were fish in all that duck weed, but this fellow had no trouble finding them in the Beaver River.
