These Grackles arrived from the south to the ice storm and starving hungry. I bought a bag of corn for them, they ate and ate. Here you can see the beautiful breeding plumage of the Grackles.
This hungry little fellow was out right before the ice storm hit, he was so hungry nibbling on a single piece of grass he didn’t care that I walked up and took a photo, in a few months they will be not so hungry and far more scarce.
Here is a piece of trivia for you … they hold the sun flower seed eating record of 96 seeds in five minutes… I had no idea that someone keeps track of these things!
Small white goose with black primary feathers and stubby red based bill. Often in company with other geese. Our smallest goose found in Ontario, this one was at the Minesing Wetlands.
