Spring breeding plumage make the Goldfinch unmistakable, always a joy to see them. Finches love a meal of black sun flower seeds, always flocking the feeders with their beautiful colours.
In the middle of all the sparrows was this brightly coloured little bird, flocking to the extra feed I put out during the ice storm to get a welcome snack. You can see the ice pellets on it’s feathers.
It was one cold day near Chatsworth, I was visiting a friend with a busy feeder and I couldn’t resist getting my camera. They were soooo cute all fluffed up in the cold.
